Divorce and Custody Services
I am always available to conduct child custody evaluations when there is a court order for me to do so. I prefer to do this work when there is an agreement between both attorneys to use me in this capacity but I have taken cases upon referral directly from the Court, from one lawyer or from the Guardian ad Litem when there is a matter pending in Domestic Relations Court or in Juvenile Court.
After performing literally hundreds of child custody evaluations over the past 30 years or so, it finally occurred to me that the part I like most about the process is helping couples come to their own agreements as to how they wish to raise their children after a divorce. In recent years, I have had the opportunity in many cases to skip the evaluation part altogether and work directly with couples in assisting them in arriving at an agreement. Toward this end, I have served as a mediator in some instances, an arbitrator in others and as a parenting coach and child specialist for couples involved in a Collaborative Divorce process. I also serve as a Parenting Coordinator in high-conflict divorce and child custody matters.
I am pleased to be an active member in the Center for Principled Family Advocacy and I am trained and skilled in a number of Alternative Dispute Resolution methods.
Civil Litigation
I perform forensic psychological evaluations in Personal Injury, Malpractice, Immigration, Disability, and other Civil Court matters. I have worked with both Plaintiff and Defense attorneys in personal injury matters. In addition, over the years, I have conducted thousands of evaluations on behalf of the Bureau of Disability Determination, the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation and the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation.
If you are an attorney who wants to discuss a potential referral, I am happy to have a no-cost and confidential conversation with you to determine whether I can be of help.
